TRAVELING FORMAL HOUSEKEEPER NEEDED FOR FAMILY IN PALO ALTO, CA – SEEKING CALIFORNIA LOCALS

Our clients are seeking a staff Housekeeper with formal service experience, who is able to travel, to assist on a team of housekeepers to work across various locations in California and other US/global cities. Collaborating closely with the Executive Housekeeper, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring multiple properties, including the principal’s Palo Alto residence, is always in pristine condition, organized and guest ready. This position travels frequently (approximately 40% of the year), and will require complete flexibility and a current passport.

The Housekeeper must have experience working in a formal household, demonstrating elevated skills in all aspects of household cleaning, including hands-on care of fine furniture, artwork, cleaning surfaces and fabrics, and cleaning as needed/directed in all areas of the property. The primary focus will be to keep households spotless, organized and in excellent condition as well as help to maintain and manage household inventories, stocking, supplying and providing assistance to staff wherever it may be called upon. Having “absent service” knowledge, ability to work around the principals so as not to disrupt their privacy, and to maintain a very high level of discretion and confidentiality is required for this position.

Must be willing to travel to various properties in and outside of California, with flexibility and short notice

Housekeeper position:

• Uphold impeccable standards at multiple properties -traveling about 40% of the time
• Skillfully manage inventories and assist when possible with essential repairs
• Handle errands, shopping, and post-event cleanup
• Proactively anticipate and fulfill principal’s preferences

Requirements:

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in formal private homes
• Maintain and organize outdoor areas as needed
• Be able to frequently travel, and have flexibility for short notice, with a minimum of approximately 40% of travel throughout the year
• Exhibit exceptional judgment, coupled with an unwavering owner-focused ethos
• Speak, read and write fluent English
• Hold a valid US driver’s license and have reliable transportation
• Be comfortable with care of principal’s pets
