TRAVEL NANNY WITH PSYCHOLOGY, ECE BACKGROUND OR SIMILAR EXPERIENCE FOR CA/NY
TRAVEL NANNY WITH PSYCHOLOGY OR ECE BACKGROUND OR SIMILAR EXPERIENCE FOR CA/NY
Our exceptionally sweet client is seeking a travel nanny who is well versed in child psychology, handling child trauma, and/or has an ECE background. Care is required for one child, a girl, who is 9. She is home-schooled, slightly behind in her studies and working with tutors.
The ideal candidate will understand childhood trauma or loss; someone active, creative, and flexible. You will be able to help instill structure and be familiar with proxy parenting. The child exhibits manipulative behaviors and needs someone who is patient, understanding and experienced with this kind of child, to gently implement incremental changes in behavior. Similar experience preferred, not required but a big plus.
Principal prefers a live in Nanny but will consider off property living accommodations when necessary. There are times when that may not be possible due to the location, but if a longer period of time is required, the off-site accommodations will be a possible option. You will be traveling between CA/NY and other locations, so you are a great traveler who is ready to go! Can pack for the child with on-line school needs, proper attire for different temperatures, games, etc.
An open schedule for traveling is 100% required, as this position does travel every few months between east and west coasts. You are someone who has no commitments and is open to a “nomadic lifestyle” to travel from a home in Los Angeles, to the Hamptons, and other locations around the US. This is an exciting position, meeting very high profile individuals, so please be experienced around high profiles, and not be “star struck”. Knowing how to compose yourself around an A-list crowd is essential.
You lead a healthy lifestyle, eat well, get rest and know how to keep your mind/body in good condition to maintain a busy work environment and ever-changing schedule with this family. You roll with it and love to make the family part of your own (as they want with you!).
You will meet with the current nanny for the first interview, then meet principals for final interview.
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Experience with children with trauma (losing a parent) / managing behavioral issues (to be discussed with candidates)
- Playing sports and engaging in activities with child; swimming, and creative pursuits
- Structured schedule for child (bedtime and mealtimes)
- Setting up play dates with other children
Requirements:
- Active/healthy lifestyle
- Flexible schedule to travel with 24-48 hours’ notice anywhere!
- * Preferred but not required: psychology degree or experience with ECE *
- Must love dogs
Location: Los Angeles, Hamptons, and other US locations
Contract Length: Full-time/permanent
Start Date: Immediately
Children: One 9-year-old girl
Accommodations: Live in preferred; possible off property living accommodations for longer travel
Salary: DOE
