Our clients in Ann Arbor, MI (with a 2nd home in Milford Township), are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to manage their family’s day to day needs. This will be an on-site position, requiring movement (at times) between both homes, errands, and occasional work may be done remotely.

We are looking for a local Michigan candidate who is familiar with the weather, driving in inclement conditions, and has a minimum of 5-7 years of Personal Assistant experience working in a household. We are unable to review any resumes that do not have these exact specifications.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight and coordination of all calendar and scheduling for the family, coordinate principal’s calendar with principal’s executive assistants, and travel itineraries
  • Check drive times when booking appointments so principal has enough time to get to / from each meeting or appointment
  • Manage principal’s personal correspondence, respond to emails and document requests on behalf of principal as requested
  • Running errands such as dry cleaner and laundry service, grocery shopping and household items, and manage personal shopping for principal; returns as requested
  • Organize closets / rooms as requested, pack and unpack for travel
  • Assist with planning special events (e.g., parties, charity fundraisers), including being onsite for events as needed
  • Purchase and maintain fresh flowers in home
  • Schedule and supervise home cleaning / maintenance services (e.g., professional carpet cleaning, chandelier cleaning/maintenance, window washing, oven/refrigerator cleaning)
  • Pack lunch daily for principal to take to work
  • Assist with packing for upcoming move / coordinate donation of unwanted clothing and household items
  • Assist in coordinating home decorating / renovation activities
  • Manage principal’s recurring expenses, subscriptions, etc.
  • Maintain an inventory of household and personal supplies; restock as needed
  • Assist in listing household items for sale (furniture/items no longer needed)
  • Coordinate other household service providers (elder care assistant, housekeeper)
  • Purchase, wrap, and ship birthday, holiday, and thank you cards and gifts for extended family and friends as requested as well as coordinate annual holiday card preparation and mailing
  • Advancing the home and guest rooms prior to guest arrivals (e.g., making sure linens are clean, guest bathrooms are well-stocked)
  • Research different options based on specifications and provide recommendations (restaurants, shows, travel destinations, gift ideas, etc.)
  • Manage meal delivery services
  • Perform miscellaneous household errands

This is a full-time role with a regular schedule from 9 am to 5 pm (negotiable), Monday-Friday with the expectation that the PA will try to be flexible and available for OT to address any special situations that come up outside of normal working hours, such as staying later to prepare for a dinner party or being available to coordinate travel logistics when the principal is traveling, travel may be required on occasion.

Being vaccinated and boosted is required; must be willing to wear mask around elderly mother

Must be cat hair free (principal is allergic to cats)

Location: Ann Arbor, MI

Contract Length: Full-time/permanent

Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and emergencies. Times are TBD

Salary: $30-35/hour. Overtime, health benefits, and mileage reimbursement offered
