OVERNIGHT INFANT NANNY FOR PACIFIC PALISADES, CA FAMILY – MUST BE LOS ANGELES LOCAL

 Our lovely clients are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nanny to provide expert overnight care and support for a newborn infant due in September. As their Nanny, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and sleep routine of the newborn. Your specialized knowledge in newborn care and sleep training will help establish healthy sleep patterns and support a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive and specialized care for a newborn infant during the night, including feeding, diaper changing, soothing, and ensuring a safe sleep environment.
• Implement proven sleep training techniques to establish healthy sleep patterns for the newborn, promoting longer stretches of sleep and a consistent sleep routine.
• Establish a structured nighttime routine, including feeding schedules, sleep routines, and soothing techniques to help the newborn develop healthy sleep habits.
• Utilize gentle and effective techniques to soothe and calm the newborn, such as singing and creating a peaceful sleep environment.
• Offer assistance to breastfeeding mothers, establishing a feeding routine, and addressing common challenges during nighttime feedings.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of the newborn’s feeding times, sleep patterns, diaper changes, and any notable observations during the night. Provide reports and updates to parents regarding the baby’s progress and development.
• Ensure the newborn’s safety at all times, monitoring for any signs of distress or discomfort. Take appropriate measures to address any potential hazards or risks in the sleep environment.

Requirements:

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a newborn care giver or nanny, providing overnight care for newborn infants.
• Must be available to provide care from 10:00PM – 7:00AM, Monday-Friday. Be willing to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the needs of the family.
• Ability to adapt to parenting styles and cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge in newborn care, including feeding techniques, diapering, soothing techniques, and creating a safe sleep environment.
• Have experience and proficiency in implementing sleep training techniques and establishing healthy sleep patterns for newborns.
• Possess a strong understanding of breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and common challenges.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills.
• Ability to provide guidance and reassurance with calmness, patience, empathy and compassion.
• Maintain the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Must be physically capable of providing overnight care for a newborn, including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. In addition, must have the energy and vitality to provide attentive care to the infant during their entire shift.
• Must be Infant CPR/First Aid Certified

Looking for a nanny who will not rock, swaddle, or educate the parents. They want the baby to be able to self-soothe. Must be able to take direction well, a career nanny with a long time work history and comfortable working overnights.

 Location: Pacific Palisades, CA

Contract Length: Full-time/Temporary

Schedule: 10:00PM – 7:00AM, Monday-Friday, with overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the needs of the family.

Salary: $40 per hour/DOE
