• Lives in DC, Virginia or Maryland
• Previous experience in a similar role of Driver/House Manager
• Background security check essential

Hours and days off:

• This is a live-out role
• The clients are in Washington for 70-90 days of the year
• When the principal is in residence you will be expected to work 7 days a week
• Hours when in residence are 10.00am–9.00pm (varies when there are dinners or events)
• When the clients are not in Washington, you will be expected to visit the house 3-4 times a week for 2 hours from 9.00am-10.00am, 1.00pm-3.00pm, and 5.00pm-7.00pm to ensure there is presence in the house; the Housekeeper covers the other 3 days which you will coordinate with her

Duties of the role:

• Manage all aspects of the residence
• Be present when the Gardener and Handyman are at the residence
• Check everything is in working order: electricity, water, security systems, interiors and exteriors
• Retrieve deliveries and post, open and scan over as required
• Prepare breakfast and lay table/clear breakfast away
• Deliver newspapers (Financial Times and Washington Post) every day when in residence
• Driving principal and his wife when needed – on call when in residence
• When there are events at the house, the client will hire catering, butlers and a barman so you will only be expected to answer the door and escort guests to the correct room, making sure everything is perfect in the household
• Principal is very sociable and sometimes organizes dinners – if they have dinners or events to attend you will drive them to these places and then pick them up
• You may be required to run errands or order items on behalf of the client on Amazon, deliveries to congress/friends etc
• The car in DC is a hire car, normally a Cadillac or a BMW – the clients do not own their own car as it is not driven enough – the House Manager will be in charge of organizing this

Salary details:

• $84,000 a year gross
• $7,000 a month gross, or $6,000 + $1,000 (which would be provided to pay towards accommodation)
