EXPERIENCED PRIVATE CHEF FOR HEALTH-CONSCIOUS FAMILY OF SIX IN PACIFIC PALISADES, CA
Our Los Angeles based clients are seeking a talented and creative private Chef to join a family of six. Clients are health-conscious; so nutrition will be a significant aspect of this position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a willingness to try new things, as well as the ability to expand the palate of the children from eating chicken fingers to a more nutritious full spectrum diet.
Chef must be experienced in counting Macros, ability to cook for large events/dinners, and flexible to work a Tuesday-Saturday. Chef will be cooking for family members and staff. Possibly just lunch for the family and staff, and dinner for the family (TBD). More information will be provided to candidates during the interview.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for the entire family
- Design and create nutritious and well-balanced meals, considering the clients’ preference for counting macros and the expectant mother’s desire to maintain a healthy diet
- Follow a set schedule, working from Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility
- Accommodate the family’s culinary palettes
- Plan and prepare meals in various cuisines, including Mexican, Italian, and Chinese, experiment with seafood dishes while incorporating the family’s dietary preferences
- Collaborate with the family to understand their specific needs and preferences, creating a weekly menu
- Utilize the newly built chef’s kitchen, making use of food gadgets and cooking tools
- Treat the chef’s kitchen and the entire space with care, taking responsibility for keeping it clean
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a private chef, catering to the specific dietary needs and preferences of families
- Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to prepare health-conscious meals
- Ability to work well with a team and meet the expectations of the clients
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience in sourcing ingredients from local farmers’ markets and building relationships with vendors and farmers
- Knowledge of farm-to-table dining
- Budget management skills to ensure efficient use of resources
- Be able to accurately count Macros
- Preparing meals for large events and dinners when principals are entertaining
Location: Pacific Palisades, CA for 4 months and then after the move; Brentwood, CA
Contract Length: Full-time/permanent
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, time schedule TBD
Salary: $130,000/DOE, including health insurance
