EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER – BLUFFTON, SC

Our clients are seeking an experienced, hands-on Executive Housekeeper to become a valued member of their household in Bluffton, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully cared-for home and enjoys working collaboratively within an established household team.

Working alongside a longtime household team member, the Executive Housekeeper will focus primarily on detailed housekeeping, laundry and ironing, household organization, and the overall presentation of the residence. The role also includes errands, occasional light food preparation, and support with entertaining when the family is in residence.

The ideal candidate is warm, proactive, and naturally service-oriented, with excellent traditional housekeeping skills and an exceptional eye for detail. The family is looking for someone who is comfortable following established household routines while also noticing what needs attention and taking initiative. Light cooking skills are welcomed, but this is not a Family Cook or Chef position.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping and Home Care

• Perform detailed daily housekeeping throughout the residence
• Follow established cleaning routines and scheduled cleaning throughout the home
• Complete rotational deep cleaning and seasonal household projects as needed
• Maintain the residence to exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation
• Make beds, refresh bedrooms and guest spaces, and ensure the home remains consistently guest-ready
• Clean and reset the kitchen and dishwasher following household use
• Organize closets, pantries, storage areas, and household workspaces as needed
• Maintain and properly care for silver, brass, fireplace surrounds, and other specialty household items
• Identify and communicate maintenance concerns or household issues as needed
• Work collaboratively with other household staff to ensure consistency throughout the residence

Laundry and Linen Care

• Complete household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing, and proper garment care
• Maintain bed linens, towels, and household textiles with excellent attention to detail
• Iron clothing and household linens as needed
• Use the household’s Miele press for sheets and linens; training can be provided
• Launder and maintain dog beds, toys, and other pet-related textiles
• Coordinate dry cleaning and related errands as requested

Household and Errand Support

• Assist with household errands, including dry cleaning and occasional grocery shopping
• Help maintain household supplies and organization
• Receive and put away household purchases and deliveries as needed
• Pitch in with changing household priorities and special projects
• Remain comfortable working in a pet-friendly household and assisting with pet-related household needs

Light Food Preparation and Entertaining

• Assist with occasional light food preparation when needed
• Prepare simple items such as breakfast, soups, sandwiches, or other straightforward meals as requested
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and assist with kitchen cleanup
• Support dinner parties and family entertaining, including table setting, service, clearing, and cleanup
• Adjust working hours when needed to support occasional entertaining and household events

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of professional housekeeping experience within a private household or comparable high-end environment
• Exceptional hands-on housekeeping skills with strong knowledge of detailed and scheduled cleaning
• Strong laundry and ironing skills, including proper care of clothing, linens, and household textiles
• Experience caring for silver, brass, specialty finishes, and fine household items preferred
• Comfortable working collaboratively with established household staff and following existing household routines
• Highly organized, dependable, proactive, and attentive to detail
• Naturally service-oriented with a willingness to pitch in wherever reasonably needed
• Comfortable with occasional light food preparation; strong cooking skills are welcomed but not required
• Comfortable assisting with table service and entertaining
• Flexible and willing to adjust working hours for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or family events
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of the family’s privacy
• Comfortable working in a pet-friendly household
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable handling local errands
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Excellent professional references

Location: Bluffton, South Carolina

Schedule

• Full-time | Monday through Friday
• Flexibility is required for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and family entertaining as needed.
• The family travels frequently throughout the year, and the successful candidate should be comfortable with the natural changes in household activity that occur when the family is in or out of residence.

Salary and Benefits: $85-100K (DOE).
