Busy family in Virginia are seeking a great Chef to cook simple, delicious dinners for a family of 5. Chef will be responsible for grocery shopping, stocking the pantry, having ready to eat snacks available for the children, possibly making lunch once or twice a week and a big fun brunch once or twice a month (but Chef must be flexible if family requests an additional lunch or other meal here or there). After plating and serving dinner, the Chef will clear and clean the kitchen as there will not be a housekeeper to clean up and then leave.

Our clients like to eat a balanced diet and enjoy trying different types of cuisines, but they are not overly health conscious and do enjoy sushi, burgers, Italian food, an occasional steak night, and other interesting cultural experiences with food. Nice food, that tastes good, is not overly seasoned or drizzled, and is not complicated, is best for this family.

Family have several properties and require the chef to travel with them, typically 1-3months of travel over the summer and possibly during certain holidays (TBD).

For this position, we are seeking a hybrid CHEF/ESTATE MANAGER who also has experience with managing another home or other properties as family expands their real estate portfolio. As the Estate Manager, you will meet with vendors, oversee contractor’s work and make sure they are doing what they’re supposed to do, shopping and stocking for the home, call in repairmen when something is broken, walk property daily to ensure all is in working order, facilitate any needs, travel to other properties, etc. This would be in addition to cooking.

The ideal candidate has a pleasant personality, with good energy; they are proactive and recognize when family may enjoy food left for breakfast or for the children something to grab on the go left in the fridge. Experienced, confident, able to juggle the kitchen needs and the house managing.
